Blogging Tips for Increasing Web Traffic

Gaining visibility and climbing the search engine list online can seem like a never-ending battle for businesses. Indeed, constantly updating Internet marketing content, revamping web design, and keeping up with changes in the search algorithms are just some of the obstacles that make companies turn to SEO consultants at SEO firms. Some of the more technical aspects of this process are certainly in good hands with SEO experts, but some things you can do yourself.

One of those things is maintaining your blog. Blogging is very effective at generating increased web traffic — it can drive an increase of 55% more web traffic for brands. Not only that but B2B companies that blog generate 67% more leads than those without blogs. Blogging can also be a creative outlet for your brand, as well as offering a more informal platform upon which to be more transparent and honest. Check out these tips for maximizing your blogging potential:

  1. Keep a Steady Flow

There are 27 million pieces of content shared every day, so for yours to stand out from the crowd, it is important to keep a steady flow of high-quality content coming out of your blog. Posting with consistency will also encourage return viewers. Consider doing a series that comes out on a particular day of the week, and don’t forget to include pictures and videos.

  1. Exchange blog posts with other sites

Don’t let those amazing blog posts stay on your site — send them out into the world of the web. This will attract readers from other sites and demographics, as well as improve your rankings for organic links leading back to your site. Partnerships with other organizations is also a good thing — try to make connections with businesses that compliment your product, rather than compete with it.

  1. Encourage Engagement

Surprisingly, for all their skimming, browsers like getting involved. This might mean a survey regarding a new product, a promotion or a giveaway, or a quiz that users can take immediately. All of this gives your potential customer more of a stake in your business, and should increase revenue eventually.

Internet marketing doesn’t all need to be outsourced or extremely complicated. In fact, it can be very simple. You may even find that you truly enjoy blogging!

Think interviews are only for the big leaguers? You’d be amazed how many people will be willing to talk to you if you just ask them. Send out emails requesting an interview to thought leaders in your industry, and publish the interviews on your blog . Not only will the name recognition boost your credibility and increase traffic to your website, the interviewee will probably share the content too, further expanding its reach.
